Magnesium deficiency can be at least in part, a cause behind PMS, stiff muscles, mood issues and hormone imbalances. It can affect preterm labor and the ability to heal quickly post workout. Adding essential oils to your Epsom salts (one way to get in extra magnesium) prior to putting them into your bath water keeps them dispersed rather than just floating on the surface of the water.
