A few years ago while dreaming up new recipes with a friend and desiring healthy coleslaw, it came to my mind to use drained fermented cabbage based ferments! This fermented coleslaw is even better after it sits for a few hours chilling. allowing the flavors to fully meld in the fridge!! 🙌. If you really want to make it extra special, add chopped hard boiled eggs or cooked turkey bacon cut into pieces.
Fermented Coleslaw Recipe 1 quart of strained sauerkraut of choice 2 c shredded carrots if your kraut doesn’t already have it 1 cup of healthy or homemade mayo 4 T maple syrup or honey or to taste Few twists of black pepper Few pinches of celery salt Mix well. ENJOY!
